I am so happy that the winter is almost over! I say this as it is snowing outside after a short “False Spring”. Chris and I will be out there planting out thousands of seedling transplants and direct seeding soon enough. We have started all kinds of seeds in my Dad’s basement as our house is not quite ready to move into yet. Next year, I will have my own dedicated “germination station” with lots of space, a deep sink, nice lighting, a table and everything I need to be successful. It’s going to be amazing! We are making due with Dad’s basement and he hasn’t evicted me or my seedlings yet and we are so grateful. For flowers, we started Lisianthus, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Delphinium, Yarrow, Aster, and Gomphrena. For veggies and herbs, we started onion and parsley. Next month is when the crunch comes and I have to start about 50 trays of seeds, yikes! We’ll get it done, don’t worry. We’ll have so many beautiful flowers in the spring and summer.
We are also pre-sprouting Ranunculus and Anemone corms as a test to see how they will grow this spring. We do not have a high-tunnel yet, also on our list of things to have for next season but we are going to see if we can field grow Ranunculus and Anemones anyway because they are so beautiful.
